... so what is it that you do?
The Center For Creative Living is an adjunct of the Center For Spiritual Living, Mobile. The Center was created to house a variety of resident organizations whose objectives align with those of the founders in offering services and growth opportunities to the communities in our area. We actively seek those who want to build up the community of humankind - both physically and spiritually - as both givers and receivers of the gifts we bring.
... what exactly is "creative" living?
As a philosophy, we believe, among many other things, that God is a verb - ever creating the expanding Universe through the wonder of nature and the marvel that is the mind, hand and heart of the possible human. We believe that life is not something that just "happens to us" but rather that we are infinitely powerful manifestation of All That Is and, as inheritors of that gift, are responsible as individuals and groups for the life and Universe we jointly create. In short, we hold the idea in all that we do that we are divinely endowed creators who are capable of more than just surviving; we can and do live in a state of conscious creation.
... are you a church?
In a word, no. However, we are affiliated with the Center For Spiritual Living in Mobile and partner with that "campus" in bringing the message of possibility to all that are hungry and waking to new possibilities. We do offer counseling in Spiritual Practices and have weekly services, our Living Labyrinth, to bring focus to the myriad activities that conspire to take over our daily lives. And we do all of that as a reflection of the teachings of Ernest Holmes and The Science Of Mind. We also offer other opportunities that are more secular but still support the general principles of the teachings.
... you mentioned "opportunities" - what kind do you support?
The Center For Creative living considers itself a clearinghouse for good in the community. Presently we have opportunities for personal growth through counseling services through Free To Be, we have meetings hosted by the Transgender Alliance, a Theater Group, Company 11, calls us "home" and we offer outreach programs periodically throughout the year such as our annual Old Dauphinway Holiday Festival. We are always open to more sources of Good and welcome input from the community about new opportunities. If you would personally like to know or experience more about us, please use the contact page to reach to our Director, Rev. Kandace Krapu.
